The Los Angeles County Museum of Art will present Tim Burton, a major retrospective exploring the full range of Tim Burton's creative work, both as a director of live-action and animated films, and as an artist, illustrator, photographer, and writer. Taking inspiration from popular culture, fairy tales, and traditions of the gothic, Burton has reinvented Hollywood genre filmmaking as an expression of a personal vision.

On view at LACMA from May 29 through October 31, 2011, the exhibition brings together over 700 drawings, paintings, photographs, moving-image works, storyboards, puppets, concept artworks, maquettes, costumes, and cinematic ephemera, including art from a number of unrealized and little-known personal projects. Many of these objects come from the artist's own archive, as well as from studio archives and private collections of Burton's collaborators.

This exhibition was organized by The Museum of Modern Art, New York.

If you haven't had a chance to check out the awesome new exhibit at the Geffen Contemporary at MOCA... now is the time. Art in the Streets is the first major U.S. museum survey of graffiti and street art. The exhibit includes works by Shepard Fairey, Keith Haring, Mr. Cartoon, and the elusive guerilla artist Banksy. It's free on thursdays from 5-8pm, get there early to find parking. Also if you can't make it on Thursday nights then try any other day except TUE/WED and take the Metro, you will receive two-for-one admission at the door. The Geffen Contemporary at MOCA, 152 North Central Avenue, Los Angeles, CA 90012. This stationary system was created by Camrin William Design for "Haus of Tanaka" a party planing and event company in Los Angeles, CA. Hot and warm pinks accent the stationary while the name and address drives the eyes of the viewer to the right side of the page instead of the left. Common in most eastern literature.

The floral watermarks are similar to that of Cherry Blossom Trees from Japanese Wood Block Carvings. All of these features are combined into an elegant and sophisticated stationary system, complete with plenty of white space and room for additional text.  The client has expressed overall joy for the new look and is currently using the system with new and existing clients.

Also just a tip: If you are planing to visit the Long Beach Pride Festival this year, make sure you get there early to avoid long lines. The tickets will only be sold at the gate this year and there is NO IN & OUT's.
